We are proud to announce that our keynote speaker for the 2016 Merchant Risk Summit is Mark McCaughrean, senior science advisor in the Directorate of Science & Robotic Exploration at the European Space Agency, home to all of ESA’s space astronomy and solar system missions. A former professor of astrophysics at the University of Exeter, Mark is an expert on the formation and evolution of stars and their planetary systems. Mark and his team are responsible for communicating the results from ESA’s astronomy, heliophysics, planetary and fundamental physics missions across the scientific community and to the wider general public.

 

Additionally, Mark is an interdisciplinary scientist on the Science Working Group for the NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope. In 2014, he produced the television movie Landing on a Comet: Rosetta Mission, and the film Ambition.

 

This is the only conference in the financial services industry that invites executives from the card schemes, leading acquirers, ISOs and PSPs to work together to address collective issues involving fraud and payment system risk.
